| Ideas? |
[28 Dec 2009|08:04pm] |
I'm thinking of getting a small tattoo somewhere on one of my feet regarding one of my favorite hobbies - journaling.
I'm looking for it to be small and simple; I'm really picky about size and placement. My first (and only, so far) tattoo is about an inch square. A photo is included under the cut.
I was thinking of getting a nice/cute pen, perhaps, but I'm drawing a blank on other ideas.
I also love the idea of getting some sort of a camera; any ideas for a simple camera or something to do with photography?
( A couple of pics )
Thanks!

renaissance2010 Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

I posted here a few days ago, asking about Masterpiece Tattoo in Salem NH. The few responses I got were overwhelmingly "meh", so I moved on and looked elsewhere.
I fetched up at Sanctuary Tattoo in Portland, Maine. (My sister lives up there, so I combined the visits.) Wilhelm Scherer did an amazing job rendering my late husband's art into a tattoo. I really only wanted a consult, but his recommendations for minor fixes to the design were so on point, I couldn't wait.
So I went ahead and did it, and it's gorgeous. ( (Excuse my chicken skin...) )

| How do tattoos in areas with lots of bending/creasing hold up? |
[22 Dec 2009|09:38pm] |
I have been googling the hell out of this and still haven't really come up with an answer.
My recently posted tattoo is in between my hip and my thigh, and when I lift my knees up or sit in a certain way, the skin definitely creases and wrinkles my poor tattoo. I'm a little worried that this is going to cause it to age very quickly.
Does anyone else have a tattoo in an area with lots of creasing? How is it holding up, and do you do anything special to slow down the damage from all of the movement?
I read in a couple articles that it is a bad idea to get a tattoo in this area - but then I wonder why my artist wouldn't have said anything.
